12/18 - I joked that Messi and Mbappe would be playing one on one for the WC title, and they almost did just that, scoring 5 of the 6 goals in an epic WC final.  France scored twice late in regulation to force extra time, then rallied again in the second half of extra time after Messi seemingly put home the winner.  It came down to penalties, and Messi and Mbappe both delivered starting out, but the next two for France came up short while Argentina was perfect to win the shootout 4-2 and bring home the trophy to South America for the first time in 20 years.

The site will begin converting to cover qualifying for Euro 2024, which begins in March, so the group setups and fixture lists will be built in the coming days.  Unfortunately I also have a page limit on this site, so once qualifying procedures begin being established for World Cup 2026, I will probably begin running out of space and older tournaments will be taken off the site.  That shouldn't happen for a little while though.  Thanks for coming on the World Cup journey and we will back in March to begin the journey to Euro 2024.
